Why we can say 100%
Most nonprofits spend part of every gift on salaries, rent, and fundraising — they have to. Ours are covered by the same companies that fill our kits: more than 250 natural products brands who donate inventory and underwrite what it costs to run Teen Health. That is the whole reason the number is 100 and not 80-something.
One thing worth knowing before you give: at checkout, Zeffy suggests an optional contribution to cover their own costs — that is what keeps the platform free for nonprofits like us. It is set to a default percentage, and you can change it to zero. Either way, every dollar of your donation itself reaches Teen Health.
Where the kits go
We don’t hand kits out on our own. They move through partner agencies already working with young people across Southern California — youth shelters, transitional housing, foster and drop-in programs, school-based services. The people who already know these kids decide who needs what.
